Rule Out is built so that what you record stays with you. This policy explains exactly what the app does with data.

WHAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE

Magnetic, motion, air-pressure and sound readings, your cases, places, verdicts and the sound clips of flagged moments are stored only on your iPhone. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else. There is no account.

MICROPHONE

Sound is analysed on the phone, live, to draw the spectrogram and check for ordinary causes. Full recordings are temporary: after a session is reviewed, only short clips around flagged moments are kept. With "keep audio" off, nothing playable is saved. Sound classification uses Apple's on-device system; no audio leaves the phone.

PHOTOS

If you save an Evidence Card or Clip, the app asks for permission to add it to your photo library. It never reads your photos.

ANONYMOUS USAGE ANALYTICS

To improve the app we collect anonymous usage events through PostHog (for example "a session started", "a review was completed", "the paywall was shown"). They contain no audio, no sensor readings, no place names and no location, and are not linked to your identity.

PURCHASES

Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to know whether Pro is active; it receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase status, not your name or payment details.

WHAT WE DON'T DO

No ads, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data, no location access.

DELETING YOUR DATA

Delete any case in the app, or all cases in Settings. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.

CHILDREN

Rule Out is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
